Do you blog for your business? What tips do you have? My number one tip is to streamline your blogging. You can always had additional posts here and there, but I sit down once a month and do the majority of my blogging for the upcoming month. This helps me to utilize my time efficiently. Then as I come across interesting thoughts or articles, I can always add them at my discretion!

As a business owner, I’ve always approached every day as though I’m working to grow my business. I never take for granted the success I had yesterday or last year, I always focus on what I can do better and ways I can grow. I think sometimes employees can get lazy in their approach to managing their career, because they think it is the safe option. However, as the last few years have taught us, that is not true. Everyone has to manage their career/business. Nothing is taken for granted.

This article about family owned businesses shows that adaptation is the key to success and constant change we face. Family Businesses

For some entrepreneurs, our goal is to start and build a business that we are a part of indefinitely. For others, it is a goal of building and then selling. For many entrepreneurs, once they sell a business they easily start another. For others, they can have sellers remorse. I have always said that being an entrepreneur is a lifestyle. It is part of our DNA as entrepreneurs. So if we sell the business, then what? Who are we now? Just Pam who used to own a business?

It’s important that you have a plan for after the business as well.

I had an interesting discussion today with a client. She was feeling really drained with the decrease in business revenue yet seemingly an increase in time she spent in the business.

I believe we all have those periods of time where we get in a little funk and just need a pick me up. Sometimes it can be just having lunch with a friend or going to the spa for the day. Other times, I have found getting a way for 2 or 3 days to the beach to clear your head can have an amazing impact on your attitude and motivation. I also like reading books. They can range from self help to motivational to business related topics, but for me this is a way that I regroup and refocus.

I suggested these tips to her, but would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions as well.
